Human Struggle lost in America

Human struggle is a must for all humans to better themselves and learn to cope with life's unexpected happenings. Human struggle makes one stronger but is human struggle becoming extinct among wealthy Americans? Shows like MTV's Sweet Sixteen show young kids being showered with expensive gifts by their rich parents. Most of these kids are so spoiled that they would not know what to do first if something was to happen to their parents. I have a 3 year old and I want the best for him. I want him to have all that I did not have but I also want him to know what human struggle is. Without that knowledge it is easy to crack under pressure. For example at the start of the economic crash, their were many stories of people commiting suicide and in one case a man murdered his entire family after being layed off. Americans need to be less greedy and help one another deal with the inescapable human struggle.

“If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and deprecate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground, they want rain without thunder and lightning.” Frederick Douglass
